The past tense with God is the present tense with you and me. One of the great comforts of the Christian life is that what God has accomplished in the past has achieved and is achieving for us a present tense trajectory toward the holiness that He has promised to us. That promise is our destiny in Christ. My arrival at that destiny is not dependent on my faithfulness but on the faithfulness of God to keep His promises. My challenge is to make godly choices and remain malleable to His guidance and touch. msj
