| Slade’s life and ministry has been committed to the preaching and teaching ministry anchored in the word of God and built on a foundation of biblical clarity and theological soundness. Born in Japan, the son of missionaries, his exposure to the gospel and a passion for reaching people for Christ was nurtured early. His family relocated stateside when his parents responded to a call to ministry in the midwest. Slade is clearly a product of two cultures and brings that unique perspective to ministry. Struggling with his own calling as a young man, he served in various ministry settings until discovering God was leading him to the pastoral ministry. He received his training at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
During his time as pastor of Hanley Road Church, he has lead the church to develop partnerships with other ministries to effectively facilitate taking the gospel to the greater Saint Louis community and beyond. His passion for transforming lives through sound biblical teaching has grown as he continues to seek new ways to communicate to a needy world the love and justice of God as revealed in His holy scriptures. Slade and his wife Peggy live in suburban Saint Louis. They have three grown children and four grandchildren all residing in the Saint Louis area. |
